Before joining Soho House Cristina worked for multinational fragrance luxury company Puig; 'I spent three years [with Puig] working for several luxury brands – I started with Carolina Herrera and Comme des Garçons in Barcelona and then I moved to Paris to work for the Nina Ricci brand, always in the international communications team, building the comms strategy for fragrance launches worldwide.' She has been Communcations Manager at Soho House Barcelona for a year, since the House opened.

‘My favourite room is the Medium Marina room. All the rooms in this category overlook the Port Vell Marina and are very warm and cosy. It’s a room which really makes you feel at home! The decor is also exceptional – the iron headboards, carpet, tailor made lamps and mirrors…’

On the House

‘One of my favourite cocktails is the Eastern Standard because it's fresh, summery and citrusy (I’m not into very sweet drinks) or the Picante de la Casa because its very different to anything I’ve tasted before and you can only find it in Soho House! The cocktails I also very much enjoy are the ones they make in Cecconi’s. They organise an Italian Aperitivo every Monday to Friday from 6 to 8pm and the Italian cocktails they offer (chinotto Americano, Caribbean Negroni, Garibaldi and Bellini) are fantastic!’

Catalan cuisine

‘Choosing a favourite House dish is hard because I absolutely love everything that goes out of our Club restaurant’s kitchen. Chef Michele is extraordinary and every month when he changes the menu you can really see everyone’s excitement and how keen they are to taste his new creations. The ceviches are all a must, the ensaladilla Rusa is spectacular (I must say it's the first time I’ve tasted a good one because since I was young I’ve only liked my father’s). I have to emphasise the gazpacho (it's one of the best gazpachos I’ve tasted) and the wild sea bass with crispy rice and spiced yoghurt. I’ve had many lunch meetings with journalists and the majority thought our chef was Catalan so he must be doing a great job!’

'The best moment of the day is the sunrise on the rooftop. It’s so peaceful…There’s very little traffic, no noise and such a beautiful sky…its a great time to disconnect.'

Team spirit

‘The House has a very familiar, lively and warm atmosphere. The club really feels like home and this is largely thanks to the staff. They are all very approachable, natural, welcoming and extremely helpful. You can see how passionate they are about their job and how customer-oriented everyone is. It also feels like we have been open for ages.’

Shop: ‘Iriarte Iriarte – They make bags which are designed and handcrafted in Barcelona. All of the bags they sell are unique pieces of original design. When one enters the shop its somehow like travelling to the past…and when you enter the smell of the leather, the love that has been put into everything and the attention to detail is just awesome. There are not many shops like this in Barcelona. It’s a very nice place to visit.’
