Conte della Vipera, Castello della Sala, Antinori, Umbria, Italy: Antinori's take on the classic white Bordeaux blend, showing expressive Sauvignon aromas of peach, herbs and melon backed up by citrussy Semillon. Dry and zesty yet with ample weight and richness in the mouth.

Lalande de Gravet, St Emilion Grand Cru, Bordeaux, France: The Aubert family have been making wine in Saint-Emilion for over two centuries. With up to 20 months in oak, this is delicious and ripe with plum and redcurrant fruit allied to a fruitcake-style richness.

Barbera d'Alba, Pian Romualdo, Prunotto, Piedmont, Italy: An exceptional single-vineyard Barbera, with a complex, elegant nose of blackberries and spices. Rich and seamless on the palate, with vibrant fruit set against the savoury depth.
