From the food to the flowers and the all-important playlist, there’s something a bit special about a Soho House wedding. Hannah Hill got married at Babington House in 2015...

‘We met in 2014, I was 31 and a Director of an events company and Ross was 32 and works in the City. Ross proposed to me on our first anniversary at Hotel Caruso in Ravello (fast mover!). We got married 8 months after our engagement, got pregnant on our first wedding anniversary and had a little girl in January 2017. As an events and wedding planner I knew most venues in England and therefore after we made the decision to get married in England it was an easy choice for us.’

‘Ross' best friend Chris was taking us to Babington as a 'congratulations on your engagement' present in October 2014 so Ross called ahead and asked what dates they had for spring/summer 2015. We stayed for two nights and signed the contract when we got back to London - it was a very easy decision.’

‘We dealt with Becky at Babington and she did everything to make things work. I can't have been the easiest bride as a wedding planner but Becky was great. We had the best tasting ever and a few amazing nights at the House before our wedding in May 2015. I found the whole process fun and not at all stressful.’

'Relaxed luxury'

‘The day was amazing, the best day of our lives. I think the beauty of Babington is the relaxed luxury of it. The best service, beds, rooms, Martinis(!), amenities but in a really relaxed and cool fashion. I love the fact all our guests stayed on site and that there was no sound limit and curfew. A perfect day.’

People power

‘The ambience and staff were what made the day so memorable. The food is brilliant in a non-pretentious way too but the members of staff like Fish, Rainbow and others have greeted us warmly every time we've been back to Babington. The setting and vibe is the best.’

Becky from Babington's tips

'Put your personalities into your wedding – if you’re party animals, start the party during your dinner, if you're ‘winos’ have a different wine for each course. It's your wedding, make it about you. Ask for help, get your mothers, sisters, bridesmaids and best men involved, have them writing the envelopes for your invites, making the favour/goodie bags.'

and finally...

'Plan in advance and always have a bad weather plan in place. Take the week before your wedding to relax and get yourself ready. You don’t want to be doing your table plan two days before your wedding. Most important; ENJOY your day!'
