From a series of still-life paintings, this oil on canvas piece is inspired by the surrounding spaces and various items found in the portraits of French painter Manet.
Based in London, Kate Hiley is a contemporary painter whose work reimagines classic subjects. From landscapes to still lifes, her use of colour, space and expressive mark making encourages the viewer to feel the physicality behind each piece
