Designed from the ground up

Traditionally, outdoor furniture has been built to withstand the elements first, often resulting in functional pieces that compromise on comfort and style. When we looked at expanding Soho Home outdoors, our starting point was the same as always: design comes first. Taking pieces outside meant thinking carefully about durability too, and finding materials that could stand up to the elements while keeping the detail and character that define our designs.

From House to Home

When we think about our outdoor spaces, we approach them in much the same way as our House interiors, looking at how colour, texture, and material come together in each setting. We work with what is already there: the stone, plants, light, and landscape. That is why our outdoor collections often use darker wood finishes and earthy tones, helping each piece sit naturally within their surroundings.

Across the range you will find sage greens, warm rusts, chocolate browns, and soft neutrals that blend easily with the landscape. Alongside these, we add deeper accents to bring energy and contrast to the space.

'This season, a rich, earthy Bordeaux red appears throughout the collection. It is a colour often seen in our Houses and works particularly well with teak, softer greens, and natural stone'

Made to live outdoors

Just like the main Soho Home collection, our outdoor pieces are designed to stay with you for years, with silhouettes, patterns, and colours that can be mixed and layered as your space evolves. Quality remains at the heart of every decision, with our familiar indoor designs reconsidered in materials that standup to the changing seasons. For our outdoor tables, we choose marbles that feel at home outside, with the ability to weather changes in temperature and moisture. We also design with time in mind. Teak, used across footstool bases and table legs, is exceptionally durable. When left outdoors, its honey tones gradually soften into a silver-grey patina - a natural mark of well-aged wood. Our textiles are designed to cope with moisture, sun, and everyday use, helping them hold their shape and finish through changing weather.

House tip

'Pattern and colour can work surprisingly well outdoors, especially when set against the softness and variation of the natural landscape'
